Vika Group Human Rights Policy

Compliance Policies

Human Rights Policy

Effective date: June 2026  ·  Version 1.0  ·  Applies to all Vika Group entities and personnel

1. Commitment

Vika Group is committed to respecting human rights across all of its operations, supply chains, and business relationships. This commitment is grounded in the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), the International Bill of Human Rights, and the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.

We recognise that operating in frontier markets — including the Democratic Republic of the Congo — requires heightened human rights diligence. We are committed to meeting the standards expected by international development finance institutions and institutional investors.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all Vika Group entities, directors, officers, employees, contractors, and agents. We also expect our suppliers, business partners, and joint venture partners to uphold equivalent standards and communicate this expectation through our Supplier Code of Conduct.

3. Human Rights Due Diligence

Vika Group conducts human rights due diligence as an ongoing process to identify, prevent, mitigate, and account for how we address our human rights impacts. This includes:

  • Assessing actual and potential human rights impacts associated with our operations and business relationships;
  • Integrating findings into decision-making and operational processes;
  • Tracking the effectiveness of our responses;
  • Communicating how impacts are addressed to affected stakeholders and investors.

4. Priority Human Rights Areas

Given the nature of our operations in Central Africa, we pay particular attention to the following human rights areas:

  • Labour rights: Freedom of association, collective bargaining, prohibition of forced and child labour, fair wages, and safe working conditions;
  • Community rights: Free, prior, and informed consent for activities affecting local communities; protection of community land rights;
  • Security and conflict: Responsible security practices aligned with the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights;
  • Non-discrimination: Equal treatment regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, or other protected characteristics;
  • Artisanal and small-scale mining: Responsible engagement with ASM communities where relevant to our operations.

5. Grievance Mechanisms

Vika Group is committed to providing accessible and effective grievance mechanisms for individuals and communities who may be adversely affected by our operations. Grievance mechanisms will be:

  • Legitimate, accessible, predictable, equitable, transparent, and rights-compatible;
  • Available in relevant local languages;
  • Free from retaliation for those who raise concerns in good faith.

6. Remediation

Where Vika Group identifies that it has caused or contributed to adverse human rights impacts, we are committed to providing or cooperating in remediation through legitimate processes. The form of remediation will be determined in consultation with affected stakeholders.

7. Governance and Accountability

Responsibility for human rights performance rests with the Chief Executive Officer. Human rights considerations are integrated into investment decisions, operational planning, and supplier selection. This policy is reviewed annually and updated to reflect evolving standards and operational experience.
